***August 11th event RAINED OUT! Come back on Saturday, September 1st for our Woodstock Revival Redo!***
After our highly anticipated Woodstock Revival event was rained out on August 11th, it was rescheduled for Labor Day weekend, Saturday September 1st, from 9am – 2pm.
The event will bring back much of the same fantastic entertainment spanning three blocks of downtown Sarasota, with live music and interactive activities for the whole family. (The Sarasota Farmers Market will be open for normal operating hours, 7am – 1pm.)
1st Street Village
Popular retro revival band, Paisley Craze, will again take the big stage in the Market’s own “Woodstock Village”, located on 1st Street. Paisley Craze is a five-piece Sarasota band playing favorites from the 1960s, covering the incredibly wide range of styles of that historic decade – from the British invasion featuring the Beatles, to the sunny and light pop music of the Beach Boys, mind-blowing psychedelic rock of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Jefferson Airplane, and the groovin’ sounds of Motown.
Also on 1st Street, A Vintage VW Show will delight guests – with more than two dozen restored models from Rare and Unique Restoration of Bradenton. Activities will be available for kids in our “Little Hippies” Hangout, including a rock wall, high jumpers, and free peace sign painting provided by the Sarasota Farmers Market. Friends of the Legacy Trail will be back to provide free bicycle helmets for kids (while supplies last) and the SunCoast Blood Bank Blood Mobile will also be on 1st Street.
Best Dressed Hippie
The second annual “Best Dressed Hippie” Contest will once again take place with prizes for the winners. Participants should come to the Big Stage on First Street dressed in their finest 60’s-era apparel at 11:00 am to compete. (Registration begins at 9am at the Market Information booth on the corner of 1st Street and Lemon Avenue.) Prize categories include Best Hippie Couple, Best Dressed Hippie, and Best Dressed Hippie Dog.
State Street Shakedown
On State Street, a Tiny House “Open-House” will be provided by Tiny House Beach Resort on Siesta, built by Brian Kelly of Tiny Lifestyle Homes. Also on State Street will be the Mad Hatter Photo Booth, with free photos for attendees and additional live music.
The Sarasota Farmer’s Market’s Vendors will be providing a generous Raffle, free for attendees. (Must be present to win!) Participants can pick up raffle tickets at the Market information booth beginning at 9am. Multiple winners will be announced throughout the event.
