The Sarasota Farmers Market is hosting a free “Mummies at the Market” community Halloween event this Saturday, from 9am – 12pm in downtown Sarasota. The event will be located within the Market footprint, anchored at the intersection of Lemon Avenue and First Street.
Kids in costume are invited to Trick or Treat throughout the Market form 9am – 11am (while supplies last). A costume contest will be held at the main stage, located on First Street near Orange Avenue, at 11am with prizes for the winners donated by Whole Foods Market. Thousands are expected to attend this free community event.
Popular local folk/Americana band, Passerine, will provide live music from 9am – 12pm. The Market is providing free crafts for kids, and is hosting several local family-oriented non-profit organizations to provide educational enrichment activities.
The One Blood “Big Red Bus” will also be located on First Street to collect blood donations. Those planning on donating should drink plenty of water before and after and eat a good meal before. Donors will receive a free wellness check-up and Halloween themed t-shirt from One Blood.
The event is sponsored by the Sarasota Farmers Market, Mommy Magazine, and Whole Foods Market.
