We need your help! As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve recently had to temporarily shift our footprint due to safety concerns from downtown construction, and the future beautification of Lemon Avenue.
Vendors who were previously located on State Street, or Lemon Avenue south of Main Street, have moved to First Street, between Lemon and Orange Avenues. Many Vendors relied on the ample power options available in our previous footprint, and would be unable to operate their booths in the new footprint without a power source.
As a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, we also provide live music, free family events and activities, and support for dozens of other local non-profit organizations with donated booth space throughout the year.
We quickly recognized the urgent need for additional power generators but, without the capital to outright purchase them, we have had to rent them each Saturday, creating not only a major logistical challenge but also a mounting ongoing expense.
The cost to the generators required (Six (6) 3.0 – 3.4 KW Whisper Generators) is $288 per week ($48 each x 6). The cost to purchase comparable generators would be approximately $4,620 ($769.99 each x 6). We anticipate being in this “Shift” footprint for at least one year. In this time, we would be spending almost $15,000 annually to rent generators, versus less than $5,000 to purchase our own.
